“Spencer”

Spencer is a true gentleman and a joy to have around the yard.  He is excellent under saddle and has shown a natural aptitude for dressage, being balanced and willing to learn.  He also loves his jumping, exhibiting lots of scope and a natural style.  We think is ideally suited to breeding potential competition and show quality animals.

His lines on the dam's side include Benedict of Piran who was exported to Germany as a 3 year old and was immediately approved by the Weser-Elms horse society.  He was subsequently registered under the name "Brillant".  He was consistently ranked highly as a sports pony stallion and went on to successfully compete at advanced level in dressage, competing against the large horses.  He sadly died in September 2003 but that year saw 56 of his offspring cash in €12,246 purse money in total.  He was one of most successful pony stallions in Germany with 35 licensed offspring.

Our Stud Manager, Sue Brighty, worked for the Piran stud when they had Benedict of Piran and comments on the similarities between Spencer and his grandsire, adding that he is actually nicer to ride!
